How to Prove a Prediction Was Made Before the Outcome

A useful predictive system must prevent hindsight editing. Canonical prediction records, SHA-256 and OpenTimestamps create a verifiable chronology.

What changed?

This article starts from an observable business or architectural change, not from AI hype. The production version will attach named sources, capture time and evidence objects to each material claim.

Why should a business care?

The question is not whether a technology is interesting. The question is whether it changes discovery, demand, cost, risk, competition, customer behaviour or the firm's ability to act.

ENDURANCE hypothesis

Hypothesis: detect the relevant signal early, map it to the company context, define an expected effect and a time horizon, then freeze the prediction before observing the outcome.

What do we test?

BEFORE state → signal → prediction → intervention (if approved) → AFTER state. The result is classified as confirmed, partial, refuted or inconclusive. Failure remains part of the record.

Evidence contract

Production records should include source IDs, canonical content hash, Git commit, SHA-256, OpenTimestamps receipt/status, author, publication time and verification time. A timestamp proves chronology; it does not prove that the underlying claim is true.
